Meal Planning

Thanks to a friend, I have been inspired to start meal planning. I guess you could say I've also been inspired by my lack of enthusiasm towards cooking, the fact that I am on summer break so I can a plan and those countless nights of not having anything for dinner and being too tired to think of anything . I'm not much of a blogger but so much of my life lend s to having a blog, so I guess I will get it going.

Because of the heat our meals this week will be ones that can be done on the grill, in the crock pot or quickly cooking meat on the stove top in the morning.
Monday: steak
Tuesday: tacos
Wed: cashew chicken in the crockpot
Thur: salad - kitchen sink
Fri- cheeseburgers
Sat: eat at concer
Sun: leftovers

We usually do weekly shopping which lends itself to having things fresh. So I question myself as to why I have things frozen instead. With meal planning I'll know what I'm going to cook there for what I need to buy fresh.

My First Review! Muffin Monkey Bread

So here it is, my first recipe off of pinterest (Monkey Bread Muffins) and I loved it!  I actually got this recipe from the bakerlady blog after seeing someone else has posted it on pinterest.
Super easy especially if you have left over bread dough or buy a tube of it from the store. If your in a supermom mood, go right ahead and make yourself some basic bread dough =) I myself wanted a quick fix, so I purchased a tube of bread stick dough from the store. It was just enough to fill my muffin tin (18).

*Warning- once you start eating you can't stop so be prepared to go do some running or jumping jacks.

You will need- cinnamon, sugar, butter, vanilla and bread dough.
Directions- Preheat over to 375...
  1.  In all the muffin cups put about a 1/2tea of butter, about 1 tea of sugar, and then 1/4ish tea of cinnamon.
  2.  Next you will want to make 3 walnut size balls for each muffin cup. Make sure they are touching some what.
  3. Now you will want to repeat the 1st step for all the cups, the whole butter, sugar and cinnamon routine. After that I added a splash of vanilla to each cup.

Now place these bad boys in the over for about 10min or so at 375. Keep an eye on them so you don't "over-bake" them.

I also made a basic frosting for them because come on who doesn't want that extra sugar?! I made this while they baked...
Ingredients: 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 2ounces cream cheese, 2tbl butter, splash or two of vanilla, about a tea or so of milk (maybe more)

Directions: So my directions said to have the butter and cream cheese softened. However I am lazy and took these right out of the fridge. I threw all the ingredients together in my stand mixer and turned it on low for a few mins and ta da! I had myself a frosting for those delicious morsels of goodness. It isn't really runny so you have to do some work to get them on the monkey bread. I used a spatula and just smeared it on.

Welcome

Welcome to my new goal- to create a blog based on recipes and crafts I find on Pinterest and attempt to try. I will post pictures, recipes, directions, and of course my thoughts on how it all went. I am on the hunt for easy! I am a busy mommy but also a slight bit lazy so I am hoping this motivates me to get back into the things I use to love doing- baking and crafting! Soo many delicious looking/sounding recipes have soo many steps or ingredients and often take too long to make.  With that said I will not being doing any of these..lets make life simple.  I am not a writer so bare with me.
